My love story with yoga began many years ago when I stepped on the mat for the first time. Looking for balance and to gain strength and flexibility, yoga seemed like a great adventure. I wasn’t disappointed. I moved my body in new ways, was encouraged to breathe in ways I never imagined, and received the calming benefits of a physical practice that transcended the muscle and bone and made their way into my soul. I fell in love with yoga again after the birth of my first child when I was seeking self-care and a new level of balance after becoming a mother but this time  my  journey back to the mat was even more profoundly inspired by very dedicated teachers and wonderful human beings. I came to the mat day after day watching the power of yoga reveal itself to me. I soon joined a  program  "40 Days to Personal Revolution: A Breakthrough to Radically Change Your Body and Awaken the Sacred Within Your Soul" inspired by Baron Baptiste. This served as a gateway to a deeper level of self discovery. I discovered that my passion and love for yoga went beyond my own mat and that I wanted to share this transformational practice with others and to support them on their journey.

My approach as your guide is to hold a safe space for you to explore your body through intentional breath and embodied movement.

My intentions as the studio owner are to mindfully nurture and enrich the beautiful space that I fell in love with as a student, and continue expanding the studio’s offerings with a growing variety of classes, workshops, and events. I believe that the community we have at here at Lovelight is a very special one and I seek to continue to cultivate a safe space for our community to return home to their practice.

My yoga journey began in 1980 when I attended my first hatha yoga class at an aerobics studio. Trading leg warmers for bare feet was a liberating and profound experience.  Hatha spoke to me. Something  inside me clicked.  For the next several years I practiced hatha yoga wherever I could find it -from the third floor of an old house to church basements. Practicing yoga felt like coming home again and again and again. Sometime in the 90s my sister took me to my first hot yoga class. Thank you sister! This was so exhilarating – a new energy and a new light was revealed. As I continued to walk down this path of studying yoga I found myself  most at home practicing and teaching a slower flow. Impacted by the teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the teachings of the yin founders, my classes focus on the subtle body. We will move with intention and somatic awareness as we listen to our bodies and honor wherever we may be during our practice. As a registered nurse and student of Reiki I bring to my teaching an awareness of the physical anatomy and an appreciation of the energetic body.

We may come to the mat for increased flexibility and greater range of motion but we often return to our mats for the wonders happening on our interior level.

Every time we practice as  a Lovelight  community I’m infused with gratitude for the people, the practice and the pranayama we share.

I hope you will join us at Lovelight to come as you are to breathe and connect.

The practice of yoga has been such a gift in my life. I see it as a pathway to the heart--helping me to open up more and more to love: for myself, others, and the world.  Every class I teach is different because I believe that magic is found when the teacher and students are both creating in the present moment. Yoga gives the gift of getting to directly experience that for which there are no words. My goal as a teacher is always to give space for that to happen, to discover what is possible

My journey with yoga originally began as a supplemental workout to lifting weights and circuit training. It was just supposed to be a change of pace workout to help with my flexibility and injury prevention. It very quickly escalated into something very much more. I soon found myself on my yoga mat much more often than at my gym.

The connection of breath and movement was something that I had never experienced before and the moving meditation that yoga is, has become a staple in my life. It keeps me centered and helps keep all the negativity that can be encountered in the world from sticking to you and bringing you down.

Yoga is the union of mind, body, and spirit. My decade plus immersion into the art form of Yoga has only deepened with each passing year, much like life. There is so much depth that can be discovered through the practice of the 8 Limbs of Yoga . Each class I teach will be completely different because the variables inside and outside of the room will be different. I’m very curious where a class will lead and what new unknown depth can be discovered. I want us all to walk out of the class a little different than when we went in… more connected to the numinous.

I started practicing yoga 13 years ago when I was pregnant with my second daughter, Natalie. Yoga was the one thing I could do that not only made me feel good but also allowed me to get a little exercise in. After my daughter was born I continued with yoga – trying different types but ending up really loving heated yoga where my muscles felt more open.

My teaching journey started in May of 2015. I wanted a deeper understanding of yoga, so I decided to obtain the 200 hour teacher training, but I honestly didn't plan to teach. However, a few opportunities presented themselves and I quickly discovered how much she loved to teach. It’s such a pleasure seeing people progress through their practice really discovering the full benefits of yoga.

There is definitely a greater force out there leading us on our path of destiny and often you find that the journey is completely different than what you expected!

My personal yoga journey began in 2014, inspired by a friend. Yoga immediately helped calm stress and lessen chronic pains. When I began I could not touch my toes, I could not downward dog due to wrist pain, and could not lay flat on my back due to sciatic pain. Yoga has played a major role in my healing journey and I now can do all of those and more. Through the years I’ve grown more consistent in practice bringing strength, flexibility, and improved balance in the body. I’ve gained mindfulness and self-compassion in the mind. And I’ve gained the desire to share this with others. I am especially eager to help those that haven’t found yoga accessible before; and to build hope, self-love, and self-grace for wherever each is in their unique journey.

I am a 200 hr registered yoga teacher (200-RYT), with a love of learning, currently studying to be a 500-RYT. Some of my recent continuing-ed trainings include Restorative Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Meditation, Chair Yoga, Cuppsana (cupping meetings yoga), Yin Yoga, and Ayurveda Specialist Certification (ancient yoga system of medicine). My teaching style encourages connection with the body and mind - in loving curiosity and acceptance, without judgement, honoring where one is each practice. I teach many styles, but favor a gentle flow that builds strength and flexibility; yet leaves the practitioner relaxed in the mind and body, and light in the soul.

I look forward to teaching and meeting you right where you are, and walking along side you on your unique journey. Private yoga sessions are also available upon request. Contact the studio at info@lovelightyogaco.com for more information.

My journey with yoga began when my mom took me to my first yoga class 12 years ago. I slowly lost the practice and I was reintroduced to yoga five years ago. I was Learning and exploring how much yoga was helping with my stress, my mental health, and my personal self-care. Finding the beauty of flowing the body from one pose to another as I gained strength, flexibility, and self love towards my body. I became eager to learn and grow as a Yogi. I went onto teacher training in 2020. During that journey of becoming an instructor I found at the yoga community was my home. A community to feel safe, vulnerable, and excepted. I found being on my mat, I was learning who I was. All my worries went away I learned to be present with my thoughts. Finding so much gratitude towards yoga. Creating a deep connection with myself. Trusting my healing journey.

I enjoy teaching Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, and Pranayama. Each class that I teach is so unique creating a space with positive flowing energy. Having compassion towards others and creating a safe space. I love to integrate growth and mindfulness into my teachings My intention is to make you feel comfortable and encourage you to honor your body, mind, and soul through the journey. Giving your grace through your practice.

I am grateful to being apart of the LoveLight yoga community. I look forward to teaching and meeting you on the mat.

Abbi Jackson

Hello! My name is Abbi Jackson- I’m a mama of 3 littles, huge fan of a vanilla chai lattes, obsessive plant collector, & yogi. I stepped into my first yoga studio after my 2nd little girl was born & fell in love instantly. Movement that was functional & healing not only physically but emotionally & spiritually. Yoga quickly embodied much more than just my asana practice- opening my eyes to new depths of this healing practice. In 2020 I made the leap & began my yoga teacher training, specializing in vinyasa/ Hatha techniques. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences. I love teaching. I love watching people fall in love with their practice. I love seeing people discover what their bodies are capable of and I love creating space for that magic to happen!

The Yoga Journey takes many twists and turns, and no two students follow the same path. In my case, yoga was the natural evolution of a passion for running that first developed when I was a freshman in college. I began practicing yoga as a simple way to release the tension in my body after a run.

Years went by, and though I practiced many poses in private, I never signed up for a formal class. That all changed in the winter of 2013 when I decided to attend my first yoga class as a way to connect with others and find a sense of balance in my hectic life.

As an instructor, I seek to offer an environment where nerves and anxiety can be replaced by a calm feeling of belonging. I believe that yoga is not about nailing the pose, but instead offers time to reflect, be grateful, meditate, and grow with your body. The frantic lifestyles, the endless sense of competition, and any lingering self-doubt can be left behind when you come to your mat.

I completed my 200-hour yoga certification in Hatha Yoga through Infinite Light Yoga (RYS) in 2019, a Kripalu based training program. After my initial training, I pursued Restorative Training with Jillian Pransky at Kripalu and Kurunta Yoga (Rope Wall Yoga) through a studio in New York.

Ami Blue

I'm Ami! I got my start in hot yoga while in grad school studying trauma and literature. It was the way yoga yolks mind to body that drew me first, enacting my own research through my own body, and later I loved the way the physical challenges surpass the physical and point directly to our character, developing grace, patience, peace. I'm grateful and stoked to share what I've learned in my years of devotion to Bikram, Ashtanga, Baptiste, and Hot Flow yoga, but more deeply: I'm honored to be welcomed into your chosen family.
